India 1854 Issue Covers 1855 (Feb.) entire letter, written in local script, from Surat to Calcutta bearing, on reverse, 1/2a. Die II, "C" Stone fine strip of four in indigo, [28-31], cancelled with diamond of dots and showing two Calcutta c.d.s. in red; one narrow flap of reverse missing though a rare franking.
