Uganda 1898-1902 De La Rue Issue Covers and Cancellations mumias:1899 (4 Jan.) soldier´s envelope from Capt. W.W. Chitty to England, marked "On line of march. No stamps available" and further, on reverse, "Posted at Mumias British East Africa Jan 4th. 1899 Capt. W.W. Chitty 1st. Uganda Rifles", upon arrival charged "1d/f.b." postage due, redirected from Paddington to Wales with 1d. lilac applied alongside the postage due h.s. and arrival c.d.s., Mombasa (13.2) and another c.d.s. on reverse; scarce and unusual.
