Uganda 1896 Type-Set Issue 1898 (1 Dec.) envelope (220x96mm., gum stains at each side clear of the adhesives) prepared by Major Charles Price, Government Official in charge at Masindi, to his brother at Kampala, bearing 1a. (thin "1") to 5r. set of seven each cancelled "C.H.U.P." in manuscript and with superb "masindi" c.d.s. used on the first day of use of this datestamp; the cover accompanied by a 1927 (16 May) letter, written and signed by Price, giving the cover to his brother as a birthday present, the content explaining a good deal of the background to the cover and the fact that Price destroyed unused stocks of stamps at Masindi at the time.
