Cabul 1842 (Captn. R. Norman H.M.s 31st. Regt.), engraved in upright serif capitals, with later steel-clip and split ring suspension, minor edge bruise, nearly very fine Estimate £ 250-300 Captain Robert Norman, Commissioned Ensign, 31st Foot, September 1826; Lieutenant, September 1829; Captain, August 1842; served with the Regiment throughout the Campaign in Afghanistan, and present at the actions of Mazeena, Tezeen, and Jugdulluck, and the occupation of Cabul, 1842; transferred to the 40th Foot, August 1843, and served with the Regiment at the Battle of Maharajpore, 29.12.1843; placed on half-pay, July 1846.
