Not Local [i.e. locality unknown], Halfpenny, incuse impression of a punch of an oak tree, rev. blank, edge PAYABLE AT MACCLESFIELD LIVERPOOL OR CONGLETON . X . (cf. DH. Cheshire 81 Bis: presumably this specimen), reverse rough with two edge knocks, nearly extremely fine, unique Estimate £ 250-350 No illustration of this piece has been published before. It was untraced by Dalton and Hamer. The tree device does not appear to have been used on any token, but it does have some resemblance to that on the Boscobel Halfpenny, DH. Shropshire 1. Judging from its edge it is, like the Boscobel token, a product of Westwood
