"Alexandra"), contact marks; Khedive´s Star 1882, very fine, mounted as originally worn, with the following original documentation: - Commission appointing George Dalhousie Churchill Raitt as Lieutenant, Royal Marine Artillery, dated 12.10.1874 (2) Estimate £ 340-380 Major George Dalhousie Churchill Raitt, commissioned Lieutenant Royal Marine Artillery, 1872; posted to H.M.S. Achilles, 1875; served in the Battalion of Royal Marines sent to South Africa for special services in the Zulu War, 1879; served in H.M.S. Alexandra during the Egyptian War, and was present at the bombardment of Alexandria; Major (Instructor of Musketry), 1893.
