British Guiana Covers and Cancellations The American Style Datestamps — 1878 (5 Oct.) envelope (large piece with stamps excised and now replaced) to Scotland, bearing 1876 2c. orange vertical pair and 8c. rose cancelled with cork obliterators and showing a largely fine complete strike of the c.d.s. alongside, Georgetown (5.10) and Huntly (29.10) c.d.s. on reverse. Very rare despite the faults and some 10 months earlier than recorded by Townsend & Howe, and Proud. Photo Estimate £ 250-300
