British Guiana Postal Stationery Wrappers 1883 (8 Nov.) letter from De La Rue objecting to using the Ship design on wrappers due to the poor quality of the paper and the need to print each one by hand and with a suggestion to use a Queen´s head design recently engraved, which would enable them to print by machine, and with a subsequent reduction in cost; dated in British Guiana on 4 December, and , and 1883 (24 Dec.) letter of reply from the Colonial Secretary to the Crown Agents explaining the decision by the Governor to keep the original design.
