Great Britain Line-Engraved Issues 1840 One Penny Black Plate 1a AA, a grey black shade showing moderate plate wear, from corner of the sheet showing small part selvedge at left and top, large to enormous margins on other sides, light part strike of the red Durham double-arc datestamp of 17 May 1840 (second Sunday); trace of light crease or bend though in no way detracting or affecting the excellent appearance.
