An Officer´s Cocked Hat and other items A bicorne by Hamburger Rogers, as for Staff Officers, with gold lace loop and purl button and gold bullion tassels, initials JA inside, with a small upright plume, in its shaped tin with brass plaque engraved JA Anstruther The Carabiniers; together with a short drooping red-over-white feather plume, with screw fixing, an acanthus-leaf plume-base and gilt chinchain lined with white leather; a Staff pattern aiguillette and gold/crimson sword-knot See illustration Note: These items, and notably the fittings for a tropical helmet, relate to Captain Anstruther´s service as ADC to the Governor General of Australia circa 1912, as does the Melbourne label still attached to the hat-tin.
