x New Guinea 1914-15 German New Guinea surcharged "g.r.i." and value 6mm. apart 4d. on 40 pf. black and carmine, setting 9 [3] (61/2 mm. spacing), previously cancelled by "rabaul deutch neuguinea 1/6" c.d.s.; pulled lower right corner perf. and erroneously handstamped "falsch" in blue on reverse just showing at face, otherwise a very rare stamp from this setting with the current owner recording only three examples.
