Sudan Covers and Cancellations 1896 (13 Dec.) unstamped envelope (complete with contents) from Capt. F.G. Anley at Merowe to his mother c/o Cook & Sons at Cairo, marked "Field service Merowe" and showing incorrectly applied boxed "T" h.s. deleted in blue crayon, Wadi-Halfa c.d.s. (25.12) and Cook´s Tourist Service c.d.s. (1.1.97) applied on arrival, the reverse with a further strike of the Cook´s c.d.s. and two Cairo c.d.s. (1.1.97); the letter mentions that there will be another advance at High Nile.
