Sudan The Second Suakin Expedition, 1885-86 1885 (11 Mar.) soldier´s envelope to London, headed "From No. 1992 Lcorpl H.W. Locke 3rd Batt Gren Gds Souakin Egypt", countersigned by Commanding Officer, bearing GB 1d. lilac cancelled by "F" in oval of bars at the Foreign Branch and showing bi-lingual "souakin" c.d.s. alongside with Suez and arrival datestamps on reverse; the envelope a little worn and creases around edges.
