Auction: 6021 - Great Britain Stamps & Covers
Lot: 315
x Great Britain Postal History Ireland 1923 (17 Apr.) official printed Post Office envelope (the original English O.H.M.S. heading overprinted with Irish "Rialtas" inscription which was then crossed through in ink and re-inscribed "Saorstat") from Dublin to Leominster, bearing 1922-34 1d. pair tied by Baile Atha Cliath "Learn Irish" slogan machine cancellation, the original enclosure being a listing for "the following overprinted postage stamps are enclosed......" and continues "Harrison overprints can only be purchased in complete rolls... one 2d. stamp deducted for Postage"; a fine, clean and most interesting item - a wonderful combination of unusual official stationery and specific reference to the newly issued Harrison "Saorstat" printings.
