x Great Britain Postal History Ireland 1860 (2 Oct.) envelope from Blackrock to Madras, inscribed "Overland Mail via Bombay & Southampton", bearing 1855-57 6d. tied by fine strike of the blue Dublin duplex (first type, recumbent "H" code) and short ink pen stroke, red Madras transit d.s. adjacent; adhesive with some defective perfs. though otherwise fine and still very attractive. Extremely rare - the second day of usage for this type and it is stated that only two examples of this very rare duplex are known used on cover. Photo Estimate £ 650-750
