x Great Britain Postal History Ireland 1849 (8 Sept.) entire letter from "Mile Mill" to Dublin, bearing 1841 1d., BD, margins all round, tied by very fine strike of the "264" numeral of Kilcullen in blue - the adhesive however had been previously used and clearly shows the "316" numeral of Lurgan in black underneath the "264" numeral; the adhesive with light crease though in no way detracting from the very fine appearance. Note: The illegal re-use of adhesives was usually detected by the Post Office, at the point of despatch or somewhere en route. This cover may be the only known example of an 1841 1d. successful fraudulent usage in Ireland. Photo Estimate £ 800-1,000
