Wei Hai Wei The Chinese Imperial Post Office 1899 (Apr.) registered cover front addressed to Chelsea Barracks bearing C.I.P. 20c. tied by a neat strike of double-circle, "weihaiwei" bilingual dater, bearing Hong Kong, Q.V. 5c. blue pair with Chefoo tieprint and an additional pair of 10c. purple on red with Shanghai tieprint, all cancelled by Shanghai c.d.s. (14/4); there is also Chinese large "R" with "No.15", British Post Office "R" in circle and London registered oval (22/5). An attractive and very rare use of two different tieprints (only one other example recorded), underpaid by Chefoo Post Office, but it is not sure why so much was added at Shanghai.
