Wei Hai Wei The China Expeditionary Force 1901 (10 Oct.) "C.E.F." 1/4a. stationery card addressed to Hereford, uprated with 3p. carmine and 1/2a. green, sent via the Chinese Imperial Post in Wei Hai Wei with a fine strike of the bilingual, double-ring datestamp, via Chefoo (bilingual c.d.s.) and the British Post Office in Shanghai. Some light soiling, nevertheless a very interesting card sent after the closure of F.P.O. 17 (Matao Field Hospital), but when a small number of C.E.F. personnel remained. Also C.E.F. 4a., 8a., 12a. and 1r. cancelled by the bilingual Wei-Hai-Wei c.d.s., all dated 1901 (13 Jan.), apparently from a registered envelope to India. An important card. Photo
