Wei Hai Wei British Leasehold Territory 1898 (15 June) opened-out envelope addressed to The Commanding Officer, Wei-Hai-Wei "Via French Packet bearing G.B. Jubilee 21/2d. purple on blue tied by Armagh c.d.s. with a superb strike of 38mm "Liukungtau/telegraphs" handstamp in red, the reverse with Hong Kong (17/7) and blue Chefoo Dollar chop (23/7) datestamps. An outstanding cover of Wei-Hai-Wei philatelic history, not only the only recorded example of the Liu Kung Tau handstamp but the only recorded inward letter prior to the establishment of the Courier Post.
