A Victorian Officer´s Claymore of the Royal Scots Fusiliers A rare and good example of a Lévee-weight Claymore, with fine narrow twin-fullered blade (33in. long, 3/4in. wide at the forte) by e. thurkle & sons, denmark st soho, etched with foliate decoration, vr cypher, St Andrew and motto of the Order of the Thistle, Grenade and royal scots fusiliers, plated basket guard with detachable pommel, complete with scarlet-covered chamois leather liner and crimson tassel, in its plated scabbard (one grip-wire insecure) See illustration Estimate £ 400-600
