BURMA The Chin Hills District Incoming Mail 1943 (Jan.) "On Active Service" envelope from Calcutta to 2nd. Lt. J.F. Robertson at Falam P.O., showing Calcutta horseshoe-framed Postage Due handstamp applied in error as no charge has been raised and showing, on reverse, Aijal c.d.s. (date unclear), arrival c.d.s. for 27 January and forwarded to Haka; the envelope opened and resealed for return by Lt. Robertson from Haka (11.2) via Falam (13.2) to Calcutta (18.2) and redirected from Calcutta (26.2) c/o the Naval Officer in Charge, Chittagong. A very rare occurence and possibly the only item on mail known to the Chin Hills at this time. Photo Estimate £ 200-250
