BURMA The Chin Hills District Tiddim 1943 (15 Apr.) brown OHMS envelope to Simla, bearing India 1/2a. red-brown and 1a. carmine (faults) each cancelled with single-ring d.s. showing year date omitted and with triangular-framed censor cachet in violet alongside, Falam transit d.s. (21.4) and arrival slogan d.s. (7.5) on reverse. Believed to be the only surviving cover with Indian stamps from Tiddim. Photo Estimate £ 600-700 Note: When Mc.Call was personally debited with the costs of this "unauthorised postal service" by Delhi, application was made direct to the P.M.G. India who effected it immediately. Indian ordinary postage stamps were issued early in 1943 to all four hill stations. On 7 November Haka and Falam were occupied by the enemy and the survive was terminated
