English- and German-raised American composer, cellist and conductor; a prominent figure among the tin pan alley-composers; best known for his many successful operettas from 1890-WWI such as "The Serenade", "The Fortune Teller", "Babes in Toyland", and "Sweethearts". Autograph Photo Print Signed "Victor Herbert". Large B&W matte photo print of the composer with broad borders, 15 ½ x 19 7/8. He writes and signs upper right in black ink "Mrs. F. Flanigen with all sorts of good wishes from Victor Herbert Dec. 14 05". On the upper left he has drawn a musical bar from "Toyland". Very Fine. Nicely framed, 18 ½ x 22 ½".
