Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, Trafalgar (James H. Johnston, Midshipman.), nearly extremely fine, with silver top riband buckle Estimate £ 6,500-7,500 Lieutenant James Henry Johnston, entered the Royal Navy in 1803 as Volunteer 1st Class in H.M.S. Spartiate; advanced to Midshipman and Master's Mate and in the same ship was present at the Battle of Trafalgar 21.10.1805; moved to H.M.S. Ocean 1809 and appointed Lieutenant H.M.S. Canopus the same year; was employed in various vessels in the Mediterranean and off the coast of Syria, and retired on half pay 1815.
