Field Officer's Gold Medal for Martinique with Bar for Guadaloupe, reverse fitment missing (Major Luke Alen 3rd West India Regt), with original lunettes and gold riband buckle, nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 7,000-9,000 Lieutenant Colonel Luke Alen C.B., late 55th Foot, entered the Army as Lieutenant 1794; was advanced to Captain 1798 and Major 1805; Commanded the 3rd Battalion West India Regiment at the capture of Martinique and the Saintes in 1809 and Guadaloupe in 1810, and was promoted Lieutenant Colonel the following year.
