Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate 8 FE, (plate 7) small to large margins, on entire from Lancaster to Preston dated 5 February 1841, tied by very fine strike of the red Maltese Cross, the reverse with magenta Lancaster dispatch datestamp, the address panel inscribed “Afternoon Mail” (a most unusual and very rarely seen manuscript instruction); address panel with small strengthened puncture well clear of adhesive and inscription.
