Spink Numismatic Circular, June 1943, no.20599 £3-10-0
Paul and Bente Withers, 'Halfpennies and Farthings, Henry IV, V and VI', have identified four distinct portrait types for the heavy coinage of Henry IV, the first three of which use face punches carried forward from the reign of Richard II, and the fourth (this type) uses new punches. For the light coinage of Henry IV all existing halfpenny punches and dies were replaced and no 'light coinage halfpennies struck from heavy dies' exist, they are simply low weight heavy coinage examples
