“Danish West Indies”, a 1797 cartwheel Penny countermarked st thomas in oblong indent, with ata monogram in circle and 1857 in circle, attributed by Pridmore to Danish West Indies but almost certainly a British countermark, coin poor flat, countermarks fine Estimate £ 20-30 These coins have turned up in England in some number and it seems highly unlikely that they originate from St Thomas in the Danish West Indies.
