St Bartholomew, 9 Styvers countermarked in the early 1820´s with a 9, as a result of Acts dated 12th Jan and 6th April 1821, on a Charles III bust 1/2 Pistareen (Pr. “Not Attributed” 37), coin worn flat, countermark fair and breaking up, rare Estimate £ 200-300 In the early 1820´s the value of the Dollar was raised in St Barts; Spanish 1/2 Pistareens, which had previously been worth 7 Styvers, were revalued at 9 Styvers. This coin was probably countermarked by James Charlotte between 1821 and 1824 (when he died).
