St Bartholomew, 9 Styvers countermarked by Nicholas Morin, proclamation dated 30th Dec. 1808, with a crowned 9 over M(orin) on a 1758 Lima 1 Real, ascribed by Pridmore to Montserrat in error (see Pr. Montserrat 10 which is actually a modern forgery), unofficially pierced for suspension, coin fine, countermark very fine, rare Estimate £ 400-500 Jean Nicholas Morin died 9th May 1819, and was superceded by several others who countermarked small poor and uncertain coins to identify their values, the first being James Charlotte.
