Nevis, Black Dogg, nevis in a toothed frame countermarked on what appears to be a contemporary forgery of a 1789 Cayenne 2 Sous, the nevis punch being that applied to the silver coins (Pr.5 var.), host coin very fine, countermark better Estimate £ 100-140 There are 2 different but very similar punches, neither previously known on Cayenne 2 Sous, where the official punch had a crenellated frame around the NEVIS. It is strange that this punch would occur on a false 2 Sous host coin.
