Nevis, cob 1/2 Real, 1.48 g., countermarked nevis in toothed frame but no mark of value (Pr.4 var.), host coin fair, countermark very fine, coin pierced unofficially Estimate £ 250-350 It is strange that no value is countermarked on this coin when presumably part of the purpose of countermarking of silver coins was to show the value and avoid confusion.
