Tortola & St Kitts, cut quarter of a Spanish-American 8 Reales, 6.6g., with assayer F.F. – Mexico Charles III - countermarked on the obverse with a single “S” (1801) in the centre and overstamped with a tortola 1b broken stamp (1801), Pr. 26, fine, a rare coin Estimate £ 220-280 It is unusual for the St Kitts “S” only to be applied once in the middle. It is normally in the corners to prevent clipping.
