Niccolò d'Este. Medal. Bronze, 58.5mm. NICOLAI MAR-CHIO ESTENSIS, Bust in profile right, wearing a tall cap with soft crown and rolled brim, and close-fitting dress, rev. Este shield - eagle quartered with the three fleur de lis of France, flanked by the Gothic letters N-M, on a floral background within an outer, raised wreath border. Hill 74; Armand I, 10, 31; Hall; 69-70 (both later, without border); Johnson-Martini 6; cf. Kress 29 (later, without border). An Extremely Fine old cast.
