The Bernard Pearl Collection of British Historical Medals | Victoria (1837-1901), AR Golden Jubilee Medal, 1887, by J. E. Boehm and F. Leighton, VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX, crowned and draped bust left, rev. IN COMMEMORATION, enthroned figure of Empire, facing, flanked by standing figures of scince, letters and art, opposite those of industry and agriculture. At their feet, below Empire, are Mercury, reclining, and Time. Above two cherubs displaying shields inscribed MDCCCLXXXVII and MDCCCXXXVII., five linked shields, inscribed ASIA, AMERICA, EUROPE, AUSTRALASIA and AFRICA, edge plain, 78mm, 220.03g, 12h (Eimer 1733b; BHM 3219), fingermarks to fields, otherwise with proof-like surfaces and lightly toned, extremely fine, in original Royal Mint case of issue
