Anne (1702-1714), Post-Union, Shilling, 1707-E*, Edinburgh, Local dies, J-type 1, second draped bust left, E* below bust rev. crowned 'wide' shields cruciform, wide O in date, six strings to harp, angles plain, edge obliquely milled, 5.94g, 6h (Spink 3609A; ESC 1424 [1140A] [R3], cf. pp. 197 - Fig. 4, bust variety 1; Slaney I, 179[b]), marginally off-struck with worn and clogged dies, fair to almost fine, extremely rare, in NGC 'Francis' holder, graded VG8 (Cert. #5878643-019)
