Roosevelt, Franklin D Thirty-second President of the United States (1882-1945, served from 1933); guided the nation out of the Great Depression and through World War II. Outstanding collecting crossover Book "A Description of United States Postage Stamps, " Washington, US Government Printing Office, 1937. Signed "Franklin D Roosevelt / The White House / 1937" on free endpaper. Also signed by Postmaster General "James A Farley" on foreword page. 8vo, green leather with gilt title, Post Office Department seal, and "FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT," 199pp with dozens of blank pages at back for notes. Toned extremities, VG/F. President Roosevelt was a devoted philatelist even during his presidency, although the present book does not appear to have seen much use.
