Rand, Ayn Russian-born American author and social leader (1905-82); known for her novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged; promoted the objectivist philosophy and began a movement which has been accused of being a personality cult. Desirable Book "The Fountainhead." New York, Signet, 1977 (originally published 1941), 12mo, paperback, Signed "With sincere appreciation / Ayn Rand / 8/15/80" on title page and inscribed to a collector. A pocket edition of perhaps her most fully realized work, which had been made into a film in 1949 starring Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal. Some flaws in wraps including dents in back cover, VG/F.
