Charles I, Oxford mint, Halfpound, 59.88g., 1642, m.m. plume/two pellets, Shrewsbury horseman left riding over arms, Oxford plume behind, rev. declaration relig.prot.leg ang.liber.par in two lines, three Shrewsbury plumes and value above, date below (Morr. A-1; JGB 866 (same dies); N.2403; S.2944), the obverse once cleaned, now slightly unevenly toned, an excellent full round specimen, almost extremely fine, the reverse better, rare Estimate £2,000-2,500 provenance:
