William III, Sixpence, 2.95g., 1697, second laureate and draped bust facing right, legend error, gvliemvs. iii dei.gra, toothed border both sides, rev. inverted die axis, small crowns over cruciform shields, four strings to Irish harp, Lion of Nassau at centre, date either side of crown above English shield, .mag br.fra et.hib rex., edge, diagonally milled (ESC 1565 R4; S.3537), well struck though slightly off centre, attractively toned, good extremely fine and the finest specimen of the second bust type we have seen Estimate £800-1,000
