Le musée des Arts décoratifs de Paris possède une importante collection de flacons à parfum datant du XVIIIe siècle, réalisés en porcelaines issues de différentes manufactures anglaises et allemandes, qui avait été constituée de 1920 à 1936 par Fernand Javal, président du Conseil d'administration de la parfumerie Houbigant. Parmi ces flacons, à l'instar du nôtre, plusieurs d'une taille similaire, sont exécutés en porcelaine dure : un, datant des années 1760, attribué à la manufacture de Ludwigsburg (1), d'autres issus des ateliers de Kloster-Veilsdorf vers 1770 (2), et plusieurs fabriqués par la manufacture de Meissen vers 1770 (3).

The Decorative Arts Museum in Paris owns an important collection of 18th century German or British porcelain perfume flasks. This collection was built between 1920 and 1936 by Fernand Javal, CEO of the perfume company Houbigant. Among these, many of a size similar to that of our exemplary, are made of hard-paste porcelain ; one of them dated in the 1760s, attributed to the Ludwigsburg (1) manufactory, others realized by the Kloster-Veilsdorf ateliers around 1770 (2), some of them finally produced by the Meissen manufactory around 1770 (3).
