Russell & Sturgis entire to Huth in London "pr 'Zenobia' steamer via Bombay & Egypt & Marseilles", rated "3/6" and a light strike of "india" in oval in red, the flap bearing double-oval "forwarded by/edmond & co/bombay" in black and London arrival c.d.s. (13.2); small segment of flap missing and light soiling. Carried Singapore - Bombay - Mocha - Suez - Alexandra - Marseilles, from Mocha to Suez by East India Co. steamer 'Zenobia' then by British packet to London. The Marseilles - London route was officially opened on 12th August 1839. Photo
