1869 (20 July) Wingate cover to Swatow "Via California", bearing U.S.A. 1861-62 10c. blue-green tied by cork cancellation with Haverhill, Mass despatch c.d.s. alongside, San Francisco transit (4.8) both just overstruck by the very rare "paid only/to hong kong" which has been crossed through in black ink, the reverse showing Hong Kong (5.9) and Swatow (9.9) c.d.s. A clean cover, very fresh and fine.
