1928 (4 May) Paris - Akyab flight by Doisy and Carol, special printed card carried on Calcutta to Rangoon stage, bearing ½a. cancelled by c.d.s., showing Consulate General of France circular cachet in violet and "plane crashed at akyab./16th may, 1928" cachet in red. Signed on reverse by Stephen Smith. Only 44 cards caried. Photo

Note: While crossing the Bay of Akyab for Rangoon, the plane developed engine trouble and had to land on a paddy field hitting the bund of the paddy field and the plane overturned. The pilots and engineer had minor injuries.
