Volunteer Force Long Service Medal (India & the Colonies), E.VII.R. (Reservist J. Hart S. I. Ry. Voltr. Rfls.), officially engraved naming, good very fine

John Hart was probably born in India in 1853. By 1879 he was listed as an engine driver on the South Indian Railways at Trichinopoly. He thence became a locomotive foreman at Quilon and Villupuram and took his I.V.L.S.M. as per Indian Army Order 110 of March 1908.
