85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, no added sulphur, no filtration, no fining.

Every year, the estate selects a few barrels of the "Barthélemy" after one year in the cellar and takes them off on a tour of the Atlantic for 9-10 months on a non-powered sailboat, recreating the historic shipping route of the West Indies.

The wine enjoys the benefits of the wind, the waves stirring the lees naturally, with the sea air imparting a fascinating salinity to the fruit.

These bottles offered for sale came from a barrel that had toured the Atlantic. The estate was founded in the early 17th century and continues to use traditional practices, including crushing different varieties together for natural fermentation.

Château Le Puy has been farming organically since the 1600s and is a Demeter-certified biodynamic estate. They use biodynamic principles, no chemicals, low yields, and very low or no added sulphites.
