CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles; also, Continental Esterlin, in the style of Edward II of Robert of Bethune, c. 1305-1322, reading R COMES FLANDRI, as before, rev. MOn ETA ALO TEn, as last; additionally, Edward III, Third 'Florin' Coinage, Halfpennies, London (2) (North 1131); and, Edward IV (3), a Contemporary Copper Alloy Coin Weight for a Gold Angel, patinated, a bold fine; and, First Reign (1461-1470), Light Coinage, Penny, York, Archbishop Neville, as first, but G and Key at neck, 10h, m.m. lys (North 1599; S.2063); also, Halfpenny, London, 12h (North 1591), lightly clipped with darker tone in recesses, about very fine; lastly, a Contemporary Forgery of a 15th Century Penny, from the Queenhithe Hoard (BNJ 1980, 59-61); an academically curious group, from fair to good fine, most clipped or with conditional faults consistent with soil extraction (8)
