Volunteer Force Long Service Medal (India & the Colonies), V.R. (Vol: C. Teather. N. W. R. Vol: Rifles), officially engraved naming, official corrections, very fine

Charles George Teather was born circa 1841 at Limpsfield, near Oxted, Surrey, one of six children of Luke & Sophia. Baptised in July 1841, he enlisted into the 35th Regiment of Foot (Royal Sussex Regiment) and arrived to India in 1858. Having served during the Mutiny (Medal without clasp), he took his discharge there. Employed on the North West Railway as a Guard, Teather took his L.S. Medal as per A.O. 836 of 1900.
