Volunteer Force Long Service Medal (India & the Colonies), E.VII.R. (Volr: A. L. Bickers. Rohilkhand Volr: Rifles.), officially engraved naming, official corrections, very fine
Algernon Leslie Bickers was born in June 1862, the fourth son of John & Mary Bickers, his father being a Deputy Collector and Magistrate at Agra. By 1885 he was an Assistant Carriage Examiner on the Rewari & Ferozpore Railways, being married at the Roman Catholic Chapel. By 1918, Bickers had risen to become a Chief Carriage Inspector and had taken his L.S. Medal as per A.O. 801 of August 1902. He died at Mussoorie in July 1920.
