Sidney Mayle was born at Torquay, Devon on 27 April 1870 and attested with the Royal Marines with the number Ply/4773. Transferring to the Royal Navy on 1 January 1899 as a Blacksmith's Mate he was posted to Harrier. After postings with Renown and Hood Mayle served largely ashore for the rest of his career, being advanced Blacksmith on 23 June 1910. Pensioned in March 1911 returned to service during the Great War he was posted to Dreel Castle the auxiliary patrol base at Falmouth. He was again discharged in 1918; sold together with copied research.

Frank Fitzjohn was born in 1879, native of Dunfermline and served as an Able Seaman. He was discharged on 2 August 1917 with a Silver War Badge; sold together with copied research.
